First Haircut

Nicholas has needed a haircut for a while now and I have been procrastinating. It didn't have so much to do with wanting to wait until he was a year to cut his hair, after all, Riley had his first haircut at 6 weeks. I love Nicholas' hair. It is a beautiful strawberry blonde, but his roots are coming in just blonde, without the strawberry, and I didn't want to cut off the strawberry blonde hair and just be left with blonde. I don't know if it's something that with the sun's help, will turn strawberry blonde too, but I didn't want to take the chance. I love his hair color as it is now, and didn't want to do anything to change the look of it. So....I have been waiting as long as I could to give him a haircut. I also love that his hair curls at the ends and didn't want to cut that off either. Regardless...the time came, and we made that trip to the hair salon. My before picture at the salon didn't come out good, but this one from his birthday gives you a good idea of how long it was.

The L.A. Zoo

My sisters and I went to the Los Angeles Zoo with our kids. I can't believe how much it's changed since I've been there last. I had to take a picture of Reggie, the elusive alligator that lived in Lake Machado for a year and a half before being caught.

Reggie the alligator

Riley and Brayden brought their camera's so they could take pictures too

Brayden was quite a helper.

Riley picked this snake out in the souvineer shop. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I had a very similar snake when I was a child that I loved, so I couldn't say no

It was a good day

Disneyland

Just like we've done every year for Riley, we took Nicholas to Disneyland on his birthday. Unfortunately, due to our schedules, we weren't able to go at the end of February or early March, and ended up going at the end of March, which happened to be spring break time at Disneyland. It was very crowded, but I am still glad we took Nicholas. Obviously, he was too young to know exactly what was going on, but he definately knew that this was someplace special and fun.

waiting for Desi to get us in (it's not what you know, it's who you know)

Jim and I had a good hour and a half to people watch while Nicholas took a nap

This was before the merry go round started. After it started, he wanted off.

Nicholas' favorite thing

Nicholas loves to go down slides, and can do it all by himself. I just have to wait at the bottom so he doesn't fly off the slide when it ends.
